Behind meaningful social change are often individuals and organisations whose commitment, creativity and persistence receive little public attention.
The Solidarity & Unity Awards seek to provide a platform for these efforts — not only to recognise achievement, but also to share inspiring stories, connect people and organisations, and encourage new forms of solidarity and cooperation.
Our ambition is to make the Awards a meeting point for people who believe that positive change is possible when knowledge, compassion and action come together.
Recognising an individual, organisation or initiative making an outstanding contribution to the protection and advancement of human rights and human dignity.
Celebrating practical initiatives that respond to social challenges and demonstrate the power of solidarity through action.
Recognising efforts that bring people from different cultural or social backgrounds together, strengthen mutual understanding and help overcome divisions.
Celebrating grassroots and community-based initiatives creating meaningful and tangible positive change.
Recognising a young person, volunteer, researcher or emerging changemaker whose ideas, commitment or work offer a promising contribution to a more inclusive and humane society.

We aim to develop a transparent, independent and accessible nomination and selection process. Nominations will be assessed according to criteria such as social impact, commitment to human dignity and solidarity, originality, sustainability and relevance to the values represented by the Awards.

The Solidarity & Unity Awards are intended to be more than recognition of individual achievements. We want to create a platform where inspiring initiatives can become more visible, experiences can be shared and new relationships can emerge. Selected nominees and award recipients may be featured through stories, interviews, publications and events, helping their ideas and experiences reach wider audiences.
We are working on the award framework, categories, nomination criteria, selection process and the format of the first edition. We are also interested in developing partnerships with civil society organisations, academic institutions, public bodies and other organisations that share the values behind the Awards.
